World Premiere of The Highwaymen with Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson at SXSW 2019 [Video]

"I thought it was a great story and a side of the story that had never been told before. I brought it to John Lee Hancock, a native son of Texas, who knew all about it and felt it in the marrow of his bones." - Producer, Casey Silver

The outlaws made headlines. The lawmen made history. The Highwaymen follows the untold true story of the legendary detectives Frank Hamer (Kevin Costner) and Manny Gault (Woody Harrelson) who brought down Bonnie and Clyde. The cast and crew of The Highwaymen hit the red carpet at the World Premiere during the 2019 SXSW Film Festival.

The Highwaymen was film that took thirteen years to make and eventually all the elements beautifully came together. "John Fusco, [the writer] had looked at the story from the Texas Rangers perspective...I liked John's writing a lot, and I signed on to direct. As soon as that cast came together, we have our pairing of Frank Hamer and Manny Gault, and this is far and away the very best version of this we could ever have," said director John Lee Hancock.

During the Q&A, Costner reminisced how lucky he was to play all the different characters he's played over the years.

"For me, to play these characters I am not as brave as, not as smart as, has been a real privilege in my life." – Kevin Costner
