This afternoon, SXSW Interactive combines two extremely powerful founder-focused sessions. These two sessions are "The Rest is Rising: Entrepreneurship in America" (3:30-4:30 in Exhibit Hall 5) and "One-on-One With Mark Cuban" (5:00-6:00 in Exhibit Hall 5).
America Online founder Steve Case (who now heads up Revolution) will be sharing his expertise to the “Rest is Rising” session; interviewing him will be Emily Chang of Bloomberg TV. But Case and Chang won’t be the only two experts on stage for this 3:30 event on Saturday, March 8. Joining them will be two winners of the #BuiltByImmigrants contest. The two winners are entrepreneurial immigrants who gained the most recognition from their shared stories on social media.
The idea behind the Built By Immigrants Contest is to empower immigrants to share their stories and compel their friends and colleagues to pass on these stories with their members of Congress, turning storytelling into advocacy that is intimate and influential. The goal for the Built By Immigrants contest was to provide another data point for Congress to enact badly-needed reforms on our immigration laws.
