From Supreme Court Clerk to the Founder of Creative Commons, Lawrence Lessig has amassed an incredible career in service of the public good. Earlier this summer, he announced his unique campaign for president for 2016. Unique, indeed — his single-issue campaign will only move forward if he can generate one million dollars in crowdfunding support.

This unique approach to financing reflects many of the beliefs and philosophies that Lessig talked about in his solo presentation at the 2015 SXSW Interactive Festival. If you missed his talk last spring, then watch the free 57-minute video “MAYDAY: The Fight to Save American Democracy” below. This and other videos from the 2015 event can be viewed on our official SXSW YouTube channel.
