Jay Coyle (Music Geek Services)
SXSW 2016 Session: You Can Get There From Here: A Revised Road Map
As a digital strategy, direct-to-fan and fan engagement expert, Jay Coyle (and his company, Music Geek Services) spearheads new products, business development, project management and direct-to-fan initiatives for artists such as Barenaked Ladies, Sloan, the Presidents of the United States of America, John Oates, Carbon Leaf, Veruca Salt and Jars of Clay. His recent consultant work as a member of the Artist Relations team with PledgeMusic serves his goal of “super-serving the fans while serving the artists.”
Session recommended for artists/bands with existing careers, looking to navigate the current business/fan landscape
Ray Flotat (mxdwn.com)
SXSW 2016 Session: Modern SEO For Bands and Brands
With a heavy background in programming and technology, Raymond Flotat brings a vast SEO knowledge to his current venture, mxdwn.com, the cross-media entertainment magazine he founded and serves as Editor-in-Chief. Over the years, he has worked in music and technology everywhere from Ticketmaster to PriceGrabber.com, and will speak in detail about the value of SEO for artist and brand e-commerce and for driving traffic to new media/journalism outlets.
Session recommended for bands, brands, managers, labels, marketers, and webmasters
Shana Fong (Eventbrite)
SXSW 2016 Session: Stream to Ticket: Mapping the Value of Discovery
As Head of Music Marketing at Eventbrite, and previously doing marketing for streaming service Rdio, Shana perfectly bridges the gap between stream and ticket. She understands the market insights that drive fans and listeners to attend the major music festivals, venues, and tours where their favorite artists perform. Data from streaming can sell more tickets and pinpoint their core audiences, and we can't wait to hear what this group can tell us about it.
Session recommended for promoters, venue managers, talent buyers, booking agents, music festival producers, artists, managers, and labels
