Tell us a little about your session.

Along with Writer/Director Victoria Cocks and PMD Ella Macintyre, I'll be presenting a panel about our online series, Wastelander Panda, as part of Digital Domain.

Wastelander Panda is the live-action story of the last remaining panda in a post-apocalyptic Wasteland. You can watch a three-minute Prologue at http://www.wastelanderpanda.com. After a year of crowd funding, development, filming and post-production, we're about to launch three ten-minute episodes online.

We'll be talking about our journey so far, covering both the creative and online aspects of the project:

- The creation of an intriguing concept and complex world that extend beyond a single storyline, meaning that we can continue the project in multiple forms and episodes in the future.
- Our online strategy - including audience building, crowd funding and viral views - beginning with releasing our three-minute Prologue online in January and ending with our launch plans for the upcoming episodes.

We'll also be screening one of the new episodes and previewing our interactive website exclusively at SXSW.

What are you hoping to get out of the experience?

SXSW will be the first time we show one of our full-length episodes in front of an audience, so I'm looking forward to seeing the response to the film and getting feedback on our new interactive website.

I'm also hoping to connect with like-minded filmmakers who are using the online space to develop and release their film projects, to share ideas and compare strategies.

Our long-term goal is to take Wastelander Panda even further and turn the concept into a TV series or feature film, so we're also hoping to meet with potential partners who can help us create the next stage of the project.

What are you most looking forward to at SXSW Film 2013?

"This will be my first time at SXSW and I'm excited (and a little bit overwhelmed) by the amount of panels and events going on. The program hasn't even come out yet and I'm already trying to figure out how I'll have time fit everything in. It's going to be an amazing experience.

Coming from Adelaide, Australia, I'm also looking forward to getting a more global perspective on what's happening in the film and interactive communities.

If anyone has any great SXSW tips on getting the most out of the conference or wants to talk further about Wastelander Panda, I'd love to hear from you. I'm @kirstysan on Twitter or you can email kirsty@epicfilms.com.au.
