GRAMMY Nominee Nas at SXSW 2012

Last week saw the announcement of the 55th Annual GRAMMY nominations and we couldn't help but notice many familiar faces from SXSW's past. Leading the nominations were repeat SXSW alumns Dan Auerbach and Mumford & Sons, along with 2012 alum Fun. joining Frank Ocean and Kanye West, all of whom raked in 6 nods each. Auerbach's band, The Black Keys, wasn't far behind with 5 nominations, and another familiar SXSW artist, Nas, earned 4.

More of our past showcasing favorites appearing in the nominations list include (but are not limited to) Kimbra, Florence & The Machine, Katy Perry, Skrillex, Ed Sheeran, Steve Aoki, Jack White, LMFAO, Fiona Apple, Diplo and Bruce Springsteen. Appearing on the short list for best new artist is Fun., Alabama Shakes and The Lumineers competing against Frank Ocean and Hunter Hayes.
