With the end of the year nigh (or world as some might say) "Best of 2012" lists are popping up everywhere. Rolling Stone, Billboard, Pitchfork, Spinner, The AV Club and Gorilla vs. Bear, just to name a few, are all hosting multiple "Best Ofs." Some have even deigned to include some not so best-ofs as well (see Pitchfork's "Worst Album Covers" and AV Club's "Least Essential Albums").

One of our most favorite takes on the trend has been Brooklyn Vegan's lists compiled by a variety of bands in lieu of staff, critics or sales metrics.
