Love is in the airwaves. This week on The Chronolog, Kevin and Chase will feature a couple of Austin bands with a special chemistry between band members, along with other acts who are sure to put on good shows in Austin this weekend.
Lauren and Eric Larson of rock band Ume began making music after meeting in a skate park during high school. The married duo soon became a trio when they added drummer Rachel Fuhrer to the band. Ume has been working with Grammy Award-winning producer Adam Kasper (Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, Foo Fighters) on their new album, Monuments, set to release on March 4th.
The Octopus Project’s couple, Josh and Yvonne Lambert, is joined by Toto Miranda and Ryan Figg to produce a unique blend of electro-pop. Based out of Austin, the band has been experimenting with music since 1999. The Octopus Project not only presents great on-stage chemistry, but also projects an impressive visual element during their performance that culminates into a captivating show.
Meanwhile, if you find yourself in Austin and looking for something to do on February 14th, American Icon Records will be hosting Tough Love Valentine’s Day Bash at the ND. For a small cover charge, you can enjoy music from Bad Sports, The Bad Lovers, Pharaohs, and DJ Mike Mariconda.
