Big K.R.I.T. has released multiple mixtapes and a studio album, as well as made numerous guest appearances, since the beginning of his career in 2005. The rapper, hailing from Meridian, Mississippi, has also performed at eight Official SXSW Music Showcases since 2011. Nowadays, the MC is dropping new singles and getting pushed into controversy.
Big K.R.I.T. has been in the news recently as part of the controversy surrounding Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Control” -- the MC was one of the many rappers Lamar dissed on the now infamous verse. However, K.R.I.T. is one of the few, and maybe the only, rapper who wasn’t offended in any way by Kendrick’s part on “Control.” Big K.R.I.T. was quoted by Hip Hop DX as saying that the verse was “exciting” and he went on to thank Kendrick Lamar for the promotion.
In April, Big K.R.I.T. released just a snippet of his new track, “Just Last Week,” via his mixtape King Remembered In Time. At the time, SPIN said “Just Last Week,” which includes a guest appearance by Future, was the mixtape’s “most interesting attraction” even though it was cut short. K.R.I.T. released the full version of the song just last week and you can hear it on this week’s episode of Tha Fixx Radio with B. Hobbs.
The rapper will be appearing at Rock The Bells in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. later this month. Remember to tune in to Tha Fixx Radio today to hear Big K.R.I.T.’s new single, “Just Last Week.” Tha Fixx airs every Wednesday at 6am, 12pm, & 6pm CDT; Thursdays at 12am CDT; and Saturdays at 10pm CDT.
